Jerry Hinojosa became Brazosport College's seventh Board of Regents Chairman in December, 1998.  He has served as a regent since 1991.

Current Civic and Professional Participation
Jerry is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lake Jackson Post 6266.

Past and Present Work History
Commissioned as an officer in the Army after graduation from Texas A&M, Jerry served two years -- one in Viet Nam.  He began working for Dow Chemical in September 1967 in the Maintenance, Safety, and Materials Management areas and also did Chemical Management and Environmental consulting work for Dow at the General Motors plants.  Jerry retired from Dow Chemical in December 1996.

Personal Biography
Born in Laredo, Texas, Jerry attended Texas A&M University, graduating with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering.  He and his wife Anna have three children-Carmen, Daniel, and Jaime.  Carmen graduated from Texas A&M University with a Marketing degree.  She and her husband, Ben Waldman, have two children, Leo and Isaac, and live in Aurora, Colorado.  Daniel graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Business degree and is working in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  Jaime graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in History and works in Lake Jackson.  Jerry is enjoying his retirement playing golf and fishing.​
