Managing Generations in the Workplace
Audience
Anyone working with, managing or trying to understand age diversity.  While this course is good for general audiences, it is most applicable to leaders and supervisors.

Description
A training program that introduces the learner to the five generations of workers who are side-by-side in the workplace for the first time. Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials (Generation Y), and Linksters have preferred ways of managing and being managed, and because of their shared experiences employees of similar ages often bring common approaches, ideas, and values to the workplace.  The first part of this course covers understanding all five of the generations, while the second part focuses on managing the Millenials.

Attendees will learn:

  • Typical characteristics of the five generations in the workplace
  • Tips on responding to different situations on dealing with each generation
  • About potential sources of conflict between different generations
  • Tips on how to manage the Millennials in the workplace through viewing, reflecting on, and discussing five different scenarios
