Campus “Concealed Carry” Advisory Taskforce



Plan and host campus forums to gather input regarding implementation of SB11, which provides for concealed carry of handguns on Texas colleges and universities.  Review legislation and make recommendations regarding the implementation of SB11.  SB11 goes into effect August 1, 2016 at Texas public universities and August 1, 2017 at Texas community colleges.


FY 2016 and FY 2017 Outcomes:

1.    Plan and host campus forums to gather input regarding implementation of SB11.

2.    Research practices at Texas public universities and community colleges regarding the development of rules and regulations regarding SB11.

3.    Advise the President on development of campus rules to the implementation of Concealed Carry at Brazosport College.
