Hi! I have been a PASS Grant Student Mentor since the summer of 2012. I graduated in 2009 from Lighthouse Christian Academy in West Columbia and enrolled at Brazosport College that Fall as a part-time student. Even though I received my Associate of Arts degree in the fall of 2012, I have continued to take a few business-type classes while working as a Student Mentor here at the college. I will transfer to a university in the fall of 2014 as a Marketing major. Furthermore, I am very involved in activities through my church and also enjoy spending time with family and friends. Along with being a Sunday School teacher, I am one of the audio/visual techs at my church. In the spring of 2013, I was elected as the President of the newly formed Christian student organization: Revive.BC. Through my involvement with this organization and my work as a Student Mentor, I have gained valuable leadership skills that I will carry with me beyond BC. The personal growth I have experienced during my time here has inspired a passion for encouraging others to succeed in their life goals as well. I believe mentors are an important asset to a successful college career and greatly appreciate the genuine friendship and continued encouragement from my own mentors.

Hello! In the summer of 2013, I received an Associate of Science Degree from Brazosport College and am now enjoying my last semester here. An important goal of mine has always been to attend and graduate with a degree because I understand it will improve my chances of success in the future. With that being said, I plan to continue my education by pursuing a Bachelor of Biology degree, in which I will then seek admittance into a Physician’s Assistant medical school program. Since the fall of 2012, I have been a Phi Theta Kappa member and commit myself to service, scholarship, and leadership. This past fall, I was elected as the organization’s Secretary which has allowed me to hone my communication and organization skills. All in all, I consider myself a selfless person, often putting the priorities of others before my own. My reward: the smiles and gratitude of those that I help. I have always felt as though serving others was my God-given mandate. In fact, I am open-minded to people's opinion and am always willing to give advice based on my experiences. I have been part of the Student Mentor program since the summer of 2012 and am grateful for the opportunity it has given me to help those who struggle with college's demanding responsibilities. My experience here has enabled me to understand this program's crucial involvement in building a beneficial foundation for student success.

I graduated with an Associate’s of Science Degree in the Spring of 2013. I am is in the process of putting her application together to apply to the Bachelors of Science in Nursing programs. My interests range from Health Sciences (Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Microbiology, etc.) to English and Literature. Not only are we Student Mentors, but we are tutors, role models, counselors, and caretakers. To be able to have friendships with fellow students and watch them grow is what I enjoy most. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing students succeed.
I received my Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Development in the fall 2013. Currently, I am enrolled in the Bachelors of Applied Technology Program. I recently joined the Student Mentor team, and it has been a very rewarding experience. I enjoy helping others, and I look forward to meeting new students hoping to leave a positive impact on in their journey of pursing higher education. I am goal-oriented, and recognize with hard work and dedication anything is possible. When I am not on campus, I enjoy spending time with my family.

This is my second semester as a student here at Brazosport College. My major is nursing; I hope to become a nurse practitioner one day. My hobbies include singing, dancing, and playing with my one year old daughter.
