Phi Theta Kappa chapter earns high accolades

Brazosport College’s Psi Psi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa recently attended the PTK Catalyst Conference in Nashville, Tenn., and was named a Top 100 Chapter out of 1,300 chapters worldwide. Brazosport College's Psi Psi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa recently attended the PTK Catalyst Conference in Nashville, Tenn., and earned high recognition from its peers.

Among the event highlights, the BC Psi Psi Chapter was named a Top 100 Chapter out of 1,300 chapters worldwide. This is the third consecutive year the BC chapter has earned this prestigious award.

Brazosport College Phi Theta Kappa representatives attending the convention included lead advisor Cassie Bruner and co-advisor Alicia Hodge, and students Vanessa Calcote, Kristen Watts, Roberto Gutierrez, Christy Chizer, Tonya Lavallias, Hong To and Catherine LeBlanc.

“Alicia (Hodge) and I are so proud of all of the things these students have accomplished this year,” Bruner said. “We are thankful to Brazosport College for allowing them to have this opportunity to learn and grow as leaders on campus. Being a Top 100 Chapter is a huge accomplishment and I look forward to seeing their continued success in the future.”

During the conference, the BC students attended a variety of educational forums and sessions, including presentations by keynote speakers Dr. Jennifer Arnold from TLC’s “The Little Couple” and Jamie Hyneman from “Mythbusters.”
