Studies have shown that students involved in activities are more likely to succeed in college. With this in mind, Brazosport College has developed a new initiative that will, no doubt, keep students engaged in college experiences.
With its new Strive 2 Drive incentive campaign, Brazosport College will be awarding a new Honda Civic automobile to one lucky student. All students enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester in Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 will be eligible for the big prize.
This will be one of Brazosport College’s biggest promotions ever, and making it possible is a group of sponsors that truly believe in student success. The Strive 2 Drive sponsors to date are Honda of Lake Jackson, The Dow Chemical Company – Texas Operations, Freeport LNG and BASF.
“We are most excited to announce this new student success initiative,” said Serena Andrews, Brazosport College Vice President, College Advancement. “As always, it’s our partners that invest in BC students that make programs such as this possible.”
The Strive 2 Drive program will be based on participation in campus activities and will operate on a defined point system, with points assigned based on the length, importance and educational value of the activities.
Through this point system, students accumulating the most points each month during the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters will win prizes. The highest point earner at the end of the academic year will earn an additional prize.
If that wasn’t enough, every participating student will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize, a new Honda Civic from Honda of Lake Jackson. At the end of the Spring 2018 semester, five student participants will be randomly selected as finalists to be entered into a drawing for the car.
Full-time, part-time and dual-credit students are all eligible. To qualify, an eligible student must enroll in a minimum of six semester credit hours for both the fall and spring terms at Brazosport College, remain in good standing at the College and complete a registration form.
