Online Courses: In BC's Virtual Campus, driven by Desire2Learn, you will interact with your instructor and classmates through the various tools provided in this learning management system using a personal computer connected to the internet. Read the Virtual Campus home page for system checks and other information.
To prepare for taking a course in BC's Desire2Learn Virtual Campus:
To access your course in Desire2Learn follow these steps:
You will need your BC username, and BC password to login.
1. Go to BC's Virtual Campus at https://online.brazosport.edu.
2. Review the information on the login page.
3. Type your User Name (your User Name is the first initial of your first name, full last name, and the last four digits of your student ID. (ex: jsmith2468).
4. Type your password (bc + your pin number. See Student Accounts below)
5. You should see campus announcments and your calendar on the left, your course(s) listed in the center of the page and Student Manuals & Services, services information, and chat links listed on the right.
6. Click on the name of your course. After reviewing the Course Home page (check for News Items), click on Content for the rest of the course materials. Be sure to carefully read the syllabus.

As indicated in the login instructions above, you must have a student account to access your online course in the Virtual Campus. Visit here for information about student accounts. This account is also used to access the Library's Online Resources (see Library Services Information toward the bottom of this page). VCT students view information here.

Please know your computer operating system (Windows 7, Apple OSX) and what browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari (check here to see if your browser is supported)).
If you want hands-on assistance with BC's Desire2Learn Virtual Campus, please come by Learning Services. You will find Resondus LockDown Browser on the lab machines. They also provide other assistance including high-speed internet, printing, webcams, headsets, Skype, and more.
Some instructors require on-site, proctored testing. See the Learning Services Testing Center. You must have your BC id with a current sticker.
Many of the courses will require additional free software called add-ins or plug-ins to display documents, videos, or similar items. Several teachers use Respondus LockDown browser for quizzing (It is available on campus in Learning Services). Many of these normally come with a computer but may need updating. Be sure to have the latest version. See a list to find out more about add-ins and links to add or update.

Virtual College of Texas (VCT): All community colleges in Texas share courses though the Virtual College of Texas (VCT). If your schedule or needs do not match BC's courses, we can help connect you with online courses from other schools that will be on your transcript here.
Electronic Campus: The Southern Regional Education Board’s Electronic Campus is a comprehensive source for information about higher education opportunities and services across the South.
Computing and Help Desk - Every online student will receive an email account and a BC network account. The network account allows access to library services, campus computers, network storage, and other services depending on permissions. More information can be found at www.brazosport.cc.tx.us/~it/student_accounts.htm. You must complete the Student Account Security Agreement available at www.brazosport.edu/oasis/security_agreement.html.. You will need your user name and PIN. After completing the form, students must call the Help Desk, (979) 230-3266, or visit I-100 between 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday or 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Friday to have the form verified. Help desk personnel then provide access to your BC network account and your email account.
