Brazosport College offers the following College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams for credit by examination which is a national standardized exam.
The student will pay a local administration fee of $15 to Brazosport College and an *additional fee of $80 to CLEP for the following exams:
(*NOTE: Additional $80 will be paid to CLEP PRIOR to scheduling for test date @ BC-Assessment Office-E129e. You MUST go to the website http://clep.collegeboard.org to create an account to make your payment. A voucher can be retrieved once payment is made; you MUST bring the voucher for check-in process the day of the test.)
*American History: Subtest 1
*American History: Subtest 2
|*Western Civilization I
**College Composition Modular
Chemistry 1411 & 1412
*A minimum score of 50 is required in order to be awarded a grade of "P" (pass)
**College Composition Modular is equivalent to Composition and Rhetoric I
Upon being awarded for satisfactory score on Credit by Exam, student must have completed six credit hours at Brazosport College in order for score to be posted to transcript. There is a waiting period of 3 months from test date for re-testing.
A Minimum of 6 semester credit hours must be earned at Brazosport College before credit will be posted to the student's transcript. A maximum of 24 hours may be earned through any combination of CLEP, Credit by Exam or Advanced Placement tests.
NOTE: The CLEP examination may not be repeated for six months of the test date.
Students taking the English CLEP subject examination for credit towards BC are also required to complete a local departmental essay.

To apply for CLEP, a student must complete a Brazosport College Credit by Examination Petition in the Counseling and Testing Assessment office - Room E129e or visit with any of the Counselors in the Counseling and Testing department at the Brazosport College.
