Dedicated Faculty Members Secure Grant Funds

Vorin Dornan

Administrator of the Clarion Center

A successful proposal writer prior to joining the Brazosport College team in the summer of 2005, Vorin Dornan has successfully competed for several grant awards from the Texas Commission on the Arts  and the Midwest America Alliance for the Arts since joining the Brazosport College team.  His efforts have netted funds to assist in the presentation of musical performances for area school children featuring Trout Fishing in America, Boston Brass, and the Gary Burton Duo, as well as in support of staff development.

David Hinds

Computer Tech Faculty

A faculty member for more than 15 years, David Hinds was instrumental in the development and initial implementation of the U-Turn / U-Learn / U-Earn program.  Desiring to provide program information to every senior high school student in Brazosport College's district, David pursued and secured a Dow Chemical Company Community Grant to cover the expenses related to the production of an information video.

Kay Brooks

EL Civics Program Coordinator

Serving as the EL Civics Program's coordinator for three years, Kay Brooks is dedicated to securing the financial resources necessary to enhance the EL Civics Program beyond the limits of annual government contracts.  By working with the Walmart store in Angleton, Texas, Kay once again secured a Walmart grant to support the purchase of additional classroom resources and other needed supplies.
