Job Responsibilities

Prior to joining the Brazosport College administration, Ms. Shawver served as the Assistant Director of Grant Development for the state-wide Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana system in their central office.  Additionally, she has has worked extensively with community-based organizations, social service agencies and youth development organizations.
 
As the Director of Grant Administration for Brazosport College, Ms. Shawver: (1) Administers, directs and oversees the development of external grant funds; (2) Facilitates group planning for grant development; (3) Assists staff/faculty to write proposals; (4) Reviews/submits all proposals, ensuring compliance; (5) Provides expertise, direction and grant-related training; (6) Monitors and interprets regulations, ensures regulatory compliance, informs and advises administrative representatives of regulatory mandates/liabilities; (7) Submits reports prepared by program personnel for all grants; (8) Reviews for accuracy grant budgets and revisions; and (9) Performs research and data analysis.
