Will the enrollment deadline be extended?
The last day of enrollment for the semester is September 13. The last day for add/drop is September 15.

Will the payment deadline be extended?
The Payment deadline has been extended to September 13 for payment in full or to arrange a payment plan. The first drop for non-payment will also occur on September 13. If you re-add your courses on September 14 or 15, full payment must be made at this time.

What about my payment plan, will there be any changes?
Payment dates will be adjusted to October 5th for the next payment and November 5th for the final payment for all students.

What if I have an orientation hold?
Due to the extenuating circumstances of Harvey, orientation holds will be temporarily overridden in order for you to register for courses. The hold will remain on your account until you have completed the orientation requirements. Please contact Dean Jo Greathouse at jo.greathouse@brazosport.edu or 979.230.3233 to have the hold overridden.

Will the semester be extended?
No. BC will NOT extend the Fall 2017 semester, nor will it require that cancelled classes and class assignments due during this time period be made up. Final exams will be held during December 11-14. Final grades will be posted on December 15th.

Will the withdrawal deadline be extended?
The last day to withdraw from class is November 9th.

My books got damaged or destroyed in the flood, what can I do?
Check the library to see if there are copies on reserve. Apply to the BC Harvey Relief Fund. Contact your instructor for additional possibilities.

I am facing issues with hunger. Where can I go for help?
The BC Food Pantry, located in J117 of the Student Pavilion, is a free resource designed to help students in need of food. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday. To gain access to the BC Food Pantry outside of these hours, contact BC Security at 979-230-3207.

When will my financial aid funds be deposited into my bank account?
A student’s Financial Aid (including grants, loans, and scholarships) must first go towards a student’s tuition and fees. If a student has remaining funds, they may charge books at the BC bookstore. If a student has remaining money, Financial Aid will be deposited on October 10th. If you do not have direct deposit, it may take longer for a check to arrive.

Is there still time to use financial aid in the bookstore?
Yes, a student with remaining financial aid may charge their books through September 26th.

If I have to drop a class, will it affect my financial aid?
Yes, the Official Reporting Day (ORD) is September 26th. All financial aid will be adjusted through September 26th for dropping/adding courses. If you are receiving a student loan, you MUST be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) hours at the time of the loan disbursement. If you think you may need to adjust your schedule, be sure to communicate with financial aid either in person or by e-mail at finaid@brazosport.edu.

Due to Hurricane Harvey, my family will not be able to help with tuition like they had planned. Can I get more financial aid?
Unfortunately, Financial Aid cannot automatically award more aid. You may file for a special circumstance by contacting the Office of Financial Aid or at finaid@brazosport.edu. Financial Aid will review your application and let you know if they are able to award any additional assistance. This process is not automatic so be sure to apply for a special circumstance as early as possible.

When do my online and/or dual credit courses start?
Online and dual credit courses will follow the same process as all Brazosport College credit courses. If there are any changes to your dual credit courses, the department will contact you by phone or email.

What if I have to miss classes because of storm repairs & appointments?
Please contact your instructor immediately as they will give you the best assessment of how increased absences will affect your learning.

My car was damaged in the flood. Are there ride share or other options to get to class?
Brazoria County Transit Connect may be an option. Please visit or contact Student Life to find out more about this option.

I want to donate to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. How can I help?
You may donate to the Hurricane Harvey Relief fund at BC Harvey Relief Fund or you can donate non- perishable food items, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to the BC food pantry in J 117.
