High school students test for welding certification at BC

Seventy students from Brazosport, Brazoswood, Sweeny, Columbia, Foster and George Ranch high schools recently visited Brazosport College to test for their American Welding Society Certification. A total of four certification levels were possible, with students combining for 83 total certificates. These certifications will allow many of the students to be able to get a job after after high school. The day-long welding event also hosted vendors for students interested in pursuing careers in the welding field. Vendors also learned about Brazosport College's plans for its new welding facility. For more information about Brazosport College’s welding program, call 979.230.3307.
