Introduction to the basic practices, history, theories, and styles
of theatre arts, including instruction regarding solutions to
production problems. (3 SCH, 3 lecture, 0 lab)

DRAM 1323 Basic Theatre Practice. CIP 5005065326
Exposure to various phases of producing and staging a play:
acting, make-up, publicity, scenery construction and painting,
and costuming. Requires acting or technical participation in a
major production or special laboratory scenes. (3 SCH, 1 lecture,
5 lab)
 
DRAM 1330 Stagecraft. CIP 5005025126
Instruction in the basic aspects of general stagecraft, focusing
on set and properties construction. Students must complete an
additional 16 hours of work outside of scheduled class time on
outside projects during the semester. (3 SCH, 2 lecture, 2 lab)
 
DRAM 1341 Basic Stage Make-Up. CIP 5005025226
Designed to survey a large body of material in an introductory
manner. It will provide an overview of the subject matter and the
basic technical skills needed to apply corrective, age, character
and specialty make-up, as well as stage appliances such as bald
caps, wigs, beards and scars. (3 SCH, 3 lecture, 0 lab)
 
DRAM 1342 Introduction to Costuming. CIP 5005025326
Designed to introduce students to the basic materials, supplies
and crafts utilized in basic theatrical clothing construction as
well as achieve an elementary skill level in clothing construction
(hand and machine sewing). (3 SCH, 3 lecture, 0 lab)
 
DRAM 1351 Beginning Acting. CIP 5005065126
Instruction in techniques of speech and movement that explores
students’ inner and external resources for performance and
develops an understanding of the basic acting process, which
includes ensemble work, script and character analyses. (3 SCH,
3 lecture, 0 lab)

DRAM 1352 Intermediate Acting. CIP 5005065126
Designed to allow the student actor to strengthen fundamental
acting techniques and to develop further methodology for
building an honest and believable character through more
detailed analysis and ensemble work. (3 SCH, 3 lecture, 0 lab)
Prerequisite: DRAM 1351 or approval of the division chair.

DRAM 2331 Stagecraft II -Lighting, Sound and MultIMEDia Design.

Provide instruction In lighting, sound, and multIMEDia design
conception, development, and execution. Create designs with a
unity of style and composition appropriate to selected dramas.
Complete projects in stage lighting, sound, and multIMEDia.
Students must complete an additional 16 hours of work outside
of scheduled class time on outside projects during the semester.

DRAM 2336 Voice for the Theatre. CIP 5005065226
Application of the performer’s use of the voice as a creative
instrument of effective communication. Encourages an
awareness of the need for vocal proficiency and employs
techniques designed to improve the performer’s speaking
abilities. Certain sections, as designated on semester schedules
of classes, will offer instruction in the art of storytelling. (3 SCH,

DRAM 2351 Beginning Improvisation. CIP 5005065126
This course will study improvisation as both theatre training
and a performance art. Instruction in non-scripted performance
through improvisational scenes and theatre games. Developing
group consciousness and trust work applicable to ensemble
