Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics assess injuries, administer emergency medical care, and extricate trapped individuals. EMS professionals transport injured or sick persons to medical facilities. Licensing and or certification is required.

Brazosport College EMS program is leading the way in education of pre-hospital caregivers of the future and continuing the education of those already serving area communities. The EMS program is a CAAHEP accredited program.

The EMT Basic certification is offered every semester. It is two courses, EMSP1501, which is a face-to-face class.  This is an evening class, 2 nights a week. The other class is EMSP1260, the EMT Basic Clinical. This class is hands on experience and learning at area hospital ERs and EMS facilities.

EMT Advanced and Paramedic classes are offered during the week in daytime classes in the fall and spring semesters only. Please refer to the catalog for more information on these courses. The EMS webpage can be found at http://catalog.brazosport.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=8&poid=523&returnto=754
