Certified Pool Operator (CPO)

The Certified Pool Operator certification course is designed to provide the basic knowledge, techniques and skills required to safely operate a pool or spa.  The course will follow the NSPF Pool & Spa Operator Handbook (provided) along with local regulatory codes and is taught by an NSPF certified instructor.  Essential calculations, how to carry out and interpret water tests for safe operation of aquatic facilities, state and federal regulations, and other important topics will be covered.  Pass the open book exam and earn your CPO certification.  This course is available upon request with a minimum of six participants.  To schedule a course, call the program coordinator at 979-230-3405.

Essentials of Excel 2013

Microsoft Excel is a program used to present data in a spreadsheet, or a table of rows and columns.  Data can then be sorted, organized or manipulated mathematically using various arithmetic operations and formulas.  This introductory course will teach you basic data editing, performing calculations with formulas, managing workbooks, creating charts, and many other marketable skills using the automated tools found within Excel. Prerequisites: Basic keyboarding and computer skills.

Excel in Excel 2013

Continue to develop marketable skills in Microsoft Excel 2013, going well beyond the basics of a simple worksheet. Learn to manage large worksheets and workbooks, and use tools to help you find solutions to financial questions, and other data analysis.  Improve efficiency by learning how to use templates and graphics.  You will be introduced to the advanced database functions, Pivot Tables, and macros.

Essentials of Word 2013

Microsoft Word is a word processing application used to create letters, reports, and other documents.  This basic course will teach you foundational skills such as using toolbars and task panes, document navigation, document styles, editing and formatting text or paragraphs, printing, inserting special fields, productivity tools, inserting tables, and other skills essential to proficiency in Microsoft Word.

Photography I

Get to know your Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera in this hands-on digital photography class.  Discover how aperture, shutter speed and ISO choices will affect your photos.  Learn to observe and manipulate light and use your creative eye to capture great photos.  During the final class meeting, hit the ground running with a campus-wide scavenger hunt, capturing "prey" with our cameras!
