Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants work in doctors’ offices, hospitals and medical clinics assisting physicians by performing administrative duties and handling basic clinical tasks. This program is completed in two parts. This is part one, the lecture portion of the program. Upon successful completion and submission of all required documents, you will enroll in the Medical Assistant Clinical course (additional fee). During the clinical you will be assigned to work in various facilities to receive hands-on training in the field. After completing both components of the program, you will be qualified to sit for a national certification exam (additional fee). Prerequisites: At least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) and acceptable criminal background. (Clinical admission requires all state required immunizations, shot records and completed Healthcare Admissions Application.)
