In light of the increasing need for instrumentation technician training, the Center for Business/Industry Training (CBIT) of Brazosport College has developed Applied Instrumentation instructor-led courses for entry-level Instrument & Electrical Technicians and related occupational jobs (Process Control Technicians, Control and Valves Installer and Repairer, Electro-Mechanical Technicians, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technicians, and Maintenance and Repair Workers, etc.) who preferably have a two-year instrumentation degree or equivalent.

The 40 hours of free applied instrumentation training for I&E technicians and other related jobs has been developed under a grant from the Department of Labor.  Course content includes installation, maintenance, repair and some troubleshooting.  While each course involves lecture, hands-on training is the emphsis for each of the modules.  Please refer to the course descriptions for details.

The grant provides free training, but does not cover travel, food, or salary of participants while in training.  Participants need to attend all four or five days of instruction to complete the 40 hour training.
