Online Courses: The most popular course format is to interact with instructor and classmates through a learning management system, Desire2Learn, using a personal computer connected to the internet. A variety of formats, requirements, and software are used according to content and preferred instructional strategy. Some instructors require on-site, proctered testing. See the LAC Testing Center.
To access your course on Desire2Learn follow these steps:
Before accessing your course watch an Orientation video (some information is specific to ENGL1301)
1. Locate the Brazosport College Homepage: http://www.brazosport.edu
2. Click on the Desire2Learn button, second on the right. There are also several links to Desire2Learn on this page.
3. The Login page will appear.
4. Type your User Name (your User Name is the first initial of your first name, full last name, and the last four digits of your student ID. (ex: jsmith2468).
5. Type your password (bc + your pin number. See Student Accounts below)
6. You should see your your course(s) listed.
7. Click on your course. After reviewing the Course Home page, click on Content for the rest of the course materials. Be sure to carefully read the syllabus.
Student Accounts
As indicated in the login instructions above, you must have a student account to access your online course in Desire2Learn. Click here for information about student accounts. If you have any questions please contact the IT Helpdesk at (979) 230-3266. This account is also used to access the Libary's Online Resources (see Library Services Information toward the bottom of this page).
VCT students will receive their account information when courses are loaded on the Desire2Learn server, usually the Friday before classes begin.

Computing and Help Desk - Every online student will receive an email account and a BC network account. The network account allows access to library services, campus computers, network storage, and other services depending on permissions. More information can be found at www.brazosport.cc.tx.us/~it/student_accounts.htm. You must complete the Student Account Security Agreement available at www.brazosport.edu/oasis/security_agreement.html.. You will need your user name and PIN. After completing the form, students must call the Help Desk, (979) 230-3266, or visit I-100 between 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday or 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Friday to have the form verified. Help desk personnel then provide access to your BC network account and your email account.
