 Biography

Brenda Dillard, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of English

I began teaching English at Brazosport College in 1998.  I have been involved with the BC Honors Program since its inception.  Since 2005, I have been serving as a judge for the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl Competition sponsored by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, and I have coached the BC Ethics Bowl team.

I live in Manvel with my husband George, who has worked as an engineer for Kellogg Brown and Root for about 38 years. We have three horses, five dogs, seven cats and four goldfish, all of whom keep us busy. George grows vegetables and works with his dog Freckles in agility. I ride my Georgian Grande mare Gilda and my Welsh Cob gelding Bogart in dressage competitions.

 Education

Ph.D English, University of Texas at Austin
M.A. English, Texas State University
B.A. English,  University of Texas at San Antonio

 Publications

I have published scholarly articles on the linguistic shift from Middle English dialects to Modern English and on feminist literary criticism.
