I was born in California but I got to Texas as soon as I could - at the age of 2.  I have lived in every climate Texas and Louisiana have to offer but have spent most of my years in Houston.

My education includes a B.S. in Biology from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, a Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and Teacher Certification from University of Houston.

When I went to Sam, I intended to make teaching my life-long career.  However, I became involved in research during college and decided to try research as a career when I graduated.  As a result, I spent many interesting years working in kidney research at Baylor College of Medicine and Methodist Hospital.  When I "retired" from Baylor I decided to return to my original plan and teach in public schools.

My teaching experience includes 4 years in a public school system and 1 year at CyFair College  in Houston.  I have been at BC since 2004.

I have a 4 legged child named Bubba (some think he's a dog).  Bubba rules!!
