Terry Phillips
Nuclear Technology Adjunct Instructor
I joined the faculty of Brazosport College in the fall of 2008. Nuclear technology is an interesting field and has the potential for growth in the coming years. I look forward to teaching students about Nuclear Power and its benefits. I presently teach courses in nuclear technology.
I joined the U.S. Navy in 1979 and served 8 1/2 years. Most of the time I was stationed on the Nuclear Powered Submarine (USS LaJolla SSN-701) and at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Idaho Falls, Idaho as staff training instructor. I completed my enlistment in October 1987 and begin my employment with the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station in Matagorda County in November 1987. I have worked in or with most all departments at the Nuclear Plant during my 21 years of employment.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Science from the University of Maryland, graduating in 1994. This program was a coordinated program between the University of Maryland and the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station.
