Childcare Assistance

Students who have demonstrated financial need after completing the FAFSA and are pursuing a certificate or degree at Brazosport College are eligible to apply for assistance in paying childcare while in college.  In order to receive childcare assistance, you must also meet the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress policy at Brazosport College.

Childcare applicants are available during registration periods.  Funding is limited; therefore, priority is given to full-time students (at least 12 credit hours) and to students who have received childcare assistance in the past through this program.  If funding is available, part-time students will be considered at a reduced rate. Awards cannot exceed the actual weekly childcare cost.  Awards will be paid directly to childcare providers at the end of each month based on a completed billing request form.

Funds are awarded per semester on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Students must apply each semester.

Students will be required to participate in a minimum of four (4) activities provided by Brazosport College each semester to be eligible for future childcare assistance.  These activities include tutoring, educational workshops, participation in campus student organizations, etc.  A list of these activities is available in the Financial Aid office.
