 Important Update

Students enrolling in the Dual Credit Program can apply for financial aid by obtaining worksheets through the Financial Aid Office at Brazosport College or going directly online to www.fafsa.gov . Financial aid workshops are also offered at area high schools and on campus at Brazosport College. Dates are posted on our website as they are scheduled.

Students must meet FAFSA eligibility requirements to receive Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) or scholarship allowance for tuition, fees, and textbooks. The maximum award available for students enrolled in at least three (3) college credit hours each semester is $350 during the 2011-2012 year. Grants are available to students on a first come, first served basis. All necessary paperwork must be complete and processed prior to registration.  Review the financial aid calendar for dates and deadlines before applying for a financial aid.

Contact the Financial Aid Office at Brazosport College for assistance with the financial aid application process.

 TPEG PROCESS

Step 1

See your high school dual credit counselor to register for a minimum of 3 college credit hours (one class). Homeschoolers visit with BC campus counselors. See 'Steps to Enroll' for complete information about becoming a Brazosport College student.

Step 2

Log into the PIN website to apply for a Personal Identification Number.  Apply for one for yourself and one parent if you are a dependent.  Choose the option of having the PIN displayed at the time you apply. This number represents your lifetime electronic signature with the Department of Education.

Step 3

Log into the FAFSA website, complete and submit your financial aid application.

Step 4

Upon receiving a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Department of Education, Brazosport College Financial Aid office will send out a letter with instructions on how to obtain forms required from our website. Complete, print and return them as soon as possible. During registration, look on myBC to find out the status of your aid before paying for classes as dual credit funds are non-reimbursable.
