Scholarships

Scholarships are available to present and prospective students of Brazosport College.  The Financial Aid Committee selects recipients for these scholarships.

To qualify for a scholarship, students typically must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours), maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average and complete the FAFSA process. Contact the Financial Aid Office to obtain information on available scholarships, eligibility requirements, and applications. Applications may also be completed online, signed and brought in with a letter of recommendation. See link on Financial Aid home page.

WISE Scholarship Program Requirements:

  • Students must have graduated in the upper 50% of their 2009 graduating class.
  • Students must show proof of residency in the service area for 1 year prior to first time enrollment at Brazosport College.
  • Students must provide a letter of recommendation from a non-family member.
  • Awards are for 1 year of college (2 long semesters of college work)
  • Students must maintain a 3.0 or ‘B’ average, and remain in at least 12 credit hours to receive the scholarship the second semester.
  • For 2009-2010, the amount of the scholarship is $1,000. ($500 each semester)
  • Students must return the WISE scholarship application with at least one letter of recommendation to the Financial Aid Office at Brazosport College.  The college financial aid committee will select students for WISE Scholarships.
  • A WISE Scholarship may be adjusted when the recipient's total scholarships exceed the cost of attendance for one year.

Critieria for the majority of scholarships include:

  • At least half-time enrollment, some require full-time.
  • At least 2.0 GPA, some require 3.0.
