ATTENTION: The priority deadline for the Summer 2010 semester is April 1, 2010. Our office is processing files daily, however, only students having a complete file by the priority deadline will be guaranteed to know the status of their financial aid and award amount before the funds are due. If a student submits a FAFSA and completes their file after the priority deadline, they will need to make arrangements to pay or take advantage of the payment plan and be reimbursed for the amount they qualified for. Once a student has filled out their FAFSA using Brazosport College school code (007287) our office receives the Student Information Record from the Department of Education in 2-3 business days. It is imperative for students to sign their FAFSA electronically with their PIN number, otherwise the process will be delayed for several weeks. From this point on it is necessary for students to keep tabs on their financial aid account through myBC. The financial aid account shows:
- forms received and/or needed
- amount of award
- financial aid status (probation, suspension, review)
If a student is on review, using a waiver such as Hazelwood or Early High School graduation funds to pay for tuition, they must stop by our office every semester for the review hold to be lifted or waivers applied.
