To be eligible to enroll into the Dual Credit Program a student must have completed the sophomore year of high school, met minimum passing standards on the TAKS test, be classified as a junior, follow the Recommended Graduation Plan or Distinguished Achievement Program, be a full-time high school student, and have a good record in the following areas.

Attendance: The student must not have had excessive absences in the semester previous to the enrollment period. (90% Rule applies) (Texas Education Code [TEC], Chapter 25 Rule 092.

Discipline: The student must not have had severe discipline problems in the semester previous to the enrollment period. (AEC / Boot Camp) [TEC], Chapter, 37 Rule 124.

Grades: Check with the local high school Guidance Office for specific GPA requirements for early enrollment into college courses.
Students meeting the high school requirements are then eligible to take the THEA or COMPASS test. Brazosport College offers both tests. Students may choose the THEA test or the COMPASS test to satisfy the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements. The THEA is offered before each registration period and scheduled on Saturdays. The COMPASS test is scheduled at various times during the week. The THEA and COMPASS tests require a registration fee of $29.00 each.
