Is there limited space to join the program?

If we were able, we would offer this program to EVERY new student, but unfortunately, we just don't have the resources to include everyone in this program.  We only have about 60-75 spots available to mentees.

Do the Student Mentors tutor students?

While the Student Mentors are experienced college students, we are not able to tutor students in every subject area.  Fortunately, the college offers FREE tutoring.

Does it cost money to join the program?

No. SSMP is one of the many free programs offered by Brazosport College.

I work/have kids/live far from the college, will this program take up a lot of my free time?

In the SSMP, we always try our best to work with your schedule.  Also, we are very willingto communicate via email, phone, etc.  So, the amount of time you put into the program after the initial meeting is at your discretion.  Just remember, the more time and effort you put into something , the higher potential the results will be.
