Mentor Profiles

 MEET THE MENTORS

SARAH CRAWLEY
My name is Sarah Crawley. I have been attending Brazosport College since the summer of 2009. I will be receiving my Associates of Science degree in the fall of 2011. I have been participating with the mentoring program since the fall of 2010. The mentoring program is very important to me because I know the challenges students may face during their first year of college and the assistance of a mentor can be extremely beneficial. When I am not on campus I enjoy spending time with my family.
JERI JOHNSON
My name is Jeri Johnson and I am a student mentor here at Brazosport College. I became a student mentor in the spring semester of 2011 and I have enjoyed every moment. I am a returning student of Brazosport College and look to receive an Associates of Applied Science degree in May 2012. It has been a long journey, but I know it will pay off in the future. I’m also working towards a Bachelors degree in Industrial Management. Education is important in my life and it is very much needed to expand your goals and accomplishments. I have a four year old daughter that I love and she inspires me to keep moving forward. It is important that I lead by example for her so that when she grows up she will become a successful individual. In my free time I love spending time with my daughter and family enjoying fun activities. The mentoring program is also a big part of my life, because I interact with students on a day-to-day basis. I consider myself as a loving and caring person, so mentoring for me comes naturally. “I just simply love what I do!” I love life as a whole and do my best at making the best of it.
SONIA FRAGOSO
My name is Sonia Fragoso, I am 18 years old and I graduated from Brazosport High School class in 2010. I attended Brazosport College as a dual credit student in the summer of 2009 and I graduated with my Associate of Science degree in the spring of 2011. Although I have an Associate’s Degree I still want to further my education which is why I am currently working towards a nursing degree. I became a student mentor in the fall of 2011 and I feel very blessed to have this job! The mentoring program is very important to me because I get to work with students and help them in every aspect of life, which I enjoy. In my free time I enjoy reading, painting, dancing, and spending time with friends and family.
JARROD HILL
Hello, my name is Jarrod Hill. I am a current student here at Brazosport College. In May 2012, I will graduate with my Associates of Arts degree. I am a very open minded individual and find pleasure in helping others. My hobbies are playing sports, laughing and spending quality time with friends and family.  I feel that the student mentor program can not only help with assisting students but it can also lead to a friendship between mentors and mentees.
PATRICIA AMEZQUITA
Hello, my name is Patricia Amezquita. I am 20 years old. I am new to the student mentor program, and I enjoy every minute of it. Currently, I am a student at Brazosport College, majoring in nursing. I plan on receiving an associate in nursing. I will further my education by pursuing a BS in nursing. My hobbies are dancing, writing, and having fun with family and friends. I believe the student mentor program is an asset to students; because we are here to help as a general resource which you may need during your time at Brazosport College.
