Brazosport College Career Services

 BC Career Services Cafe

The Career Services Cafe is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM and from 8:00 AM to 12 noon on Friday. Stop by for a cup of free coffee any time the door is open. There are computers available for students' use and access to a printer. Or come in a look at our collection of transfer materials. We have transfer guides for several colleges as well as catalogs and brochures from many more.

The better you know yourself, the better decisions you'll make about your career and educational plans.


Exploration of different careers and majors
When someone asks you what you want to do, do you struggle to name something. Most people are only aware of a relatively few careers available. Yet, there are many great careers to choose from. How do you learn about different careers. You research! There are some great data bases that are availabel online. Don't forget to talk to people. Ask people about what they do. Increase your knowledge of the possible choices that you have.

 

Gaining Experience
There are known ways to ensure that you get the experience you need to put your self in the position of knowing you'll be able to find a job when you graduate.

Job Search Skills
Getting a job is not just about your education and experience. You need to know how to effectively present yourself on paper and in person.

The Brazosport College Career Cafe is open to students and visitors. The center is located in E-110. Within the center are resource materials for career decision, job hunting, and transfer information. Students can use eDiscover to explore different careers and occupations. Our resource library has books on resumes, cover letters, and other job search related issues. Computers are available for use anytime the center is open. A new addition to our career services is an online service that allows students and alumni to practice interviewing and create resumes.
