Upon entering Brazosport College, new students are required to take the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA), or an equivalent test, or meet an exemption or waiver option. At Brazosport College, the COMPASS test is the approved equivalent test for the THEA.
The test assesses your skill level in English, mathematics, and reading. It is not an admission test, but is simply an assessment tool to help place you in the right classes. To learn more about testing and assessment, contact the Testing Center at 979-230-3647 or visit B-100.
The Testing Center also administers interest inventories, skill surveys, aptitude assessments, work values surveys, and a personality type indicator for students desiring self-knowledge.
Brazosport College Testing Center adheres to the standards and guidelines set forth by The National College Testing Association.
