BRAZOSPORT COLLEGE CREDIT BY EXAMINATION POLICY
(CLEP, AP, IB Diploma)
Special examinations provide students an opportunity to establish credit for certain courses. Credit may be earned by Advanced Placement Exams, CLEP Exams, departmental exams, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Exams.
To apply for credit by examination, students must complete a petition for credit by examination in the Counseling and Testing Office. A minimum of 6 semester credit hours must be earned at Brazosport College before credit will be posted to the student's transcript. A maximum of 24 hours may be earned by exam.
High school students enrolled in approved concurrent/dual credit courses under agreement between the college and one of the service area school districts may gain credit for college courses without restriction on the total number of hours earned through such successful course completion..

International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
Brazosport College recognizes the academic excellence of the IB Diploma Program and awards credit on the basis of individual course examination scores. Brazosport College commends the students who have chosen the rigorous IB Diploma Program and encourages completion of the IB Diploma. Students who successfully complete the IB Diploma Program will receive 24 semester credit hours of college credit. The following scores and the college courses for which credit can be obtained are reviewed annually and current information is available upon request from the Brazosport College Testing Office. Brazosport College accepts work from some of the Higher Level and a few of the Standard Level IB courses for credit by examination up to a maximum of 24 semester credit hours. The student must request that the IB office send official scores to the Brazosport College Registrar's Office.
