Sharon Rogers

 

Board Service Dates
Sharon Rogers joined the Brazosport College Board of Regents in September, 2001.

Current Civic and Professional Participation
Sharon is an active volunteer in the Brazosport Community.  She is vice president, Brazosport Regional Health System Board of Trustees, past president and board member, Brazoria County Historical Museum;  board member, 100 Club of Brazoria County;  board member, Brazosport ISD Education Foundation.  She is past president, Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County, past member of the Executive Board of the Brazoria County United Way;  past director, Visiting Nurses Association;  past board member of the Brazoria County Youth Home, and a Paul Harris fellow of the Brazosport Rotary Club.  Sharon is also past director of the Brazosport Chamber of Commerce, where she was named outstanding volunteer in 1993, 1994, and 1995.

Past and Present Work History
Sharon is the former Manager of Community & Government Affairs at the BASF Corporation facility at Freeport, Texas.  She retired in September, 2008.  She joined BASF in September 1968 and worked in the Human Resources and Public Relations field her entire career.  She held various positions within Human Resources including Staffing, Safety, Compensation and Benefits, as well as Community Relations and Government Affairs.

Personal Biography
A native Texan, Sharon attended Brazosport High School, Wharton County Junior College and Brazosport College.  She married her husband Speedy in 1969.  Speedy is retired from BASF and is an avid flyer .  Both Sharon and Speedy enjoy traveling.
