Alpin Hong to spend weeklong residency at BC

Noted classical pianist and former professional skateboarder Alpin Hong is expected to thrill Brazosport-area audiences when he performs a concert on Saturday, April 16 at The Clarion at Brazosport College.

But this is only the beginning. In fact, Hong will be in residency at Brazosport College the week of April 10 and will be engaging in a variety of community activities leading up to the April 16 show.

On Monday, April 11, Hong plans to visit a Taekwondo studio to talk about his experiences in skateboarding, Hollywood movie stunts and martial arts. He also will be featured on KUHF’s “The Front Row,” which will be aired on Friday, April 15.

Next, Hong will be guest of honor at an After Hours Chamber Mixer on Tuesday, April 12, at the Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences, followed by an appearance as the special guest artist at the Klassical Kids concert on Friday, April 15. He wraps the week up on Saturday, April 16, when he’ll appear as the guest lecturer for the Brazosport Music Teachers Association music festival on Saturday afternoon, followed by his concert later in the evening.

Hong also will conduct piano several master classes for Brazosport College music students, as well as private piano lessons for students throughout the week. His April 16 concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
