Brazosport College honored its own during its Employee Awards Dinner on May 6 at the college’s new Dow Academic Center.

The dinner was to honor employees for their years of service to the school, as well as give individual accolades to board members Jerry Hinojosa and Sharon Rogers, assistant professor of accounting Donald Payne, and senior administrative office specialist of physical sciences and process technologies Kathy Cannon. Also, the 2010-11 Team Innovation Award winners were announced.

Among the biggest honorees of the night were Julia Crainer and Joycelynn Grigson, who were recognized for 40 years of service with Brazosport College.

Two BC employees received accolades for 35 years of service, including Jim Bailey and Lowana O'Daniel, while Horace Buchanan and Larry Grable were recognized for 30 years at the college.

The college also announced the winners of this year’s Team Innovation Award, with the BC Peer Recruiter Team earning the top honor.

The Team Innovation Award honors innovation that encourages Brazosport College to be a more dynamic and vital place for the open exchange of ideas and the achievement of goals.

Rounding out the awards dinner's individual honorees were Hinojosa, Rogers, Payne and Cannon.
