Rehearsals for the Brazosport Civic Chorus resume on August 30. The chorus will be preparing for a performance with the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra in October, a fall concert with the Columbia High School Choir, a holiday concert with the Lake Jackson Intermediate School Honor Choir and a spring concert in April.

The chorus rehearses at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evenings in the Choir Room/Recital Hall in the Clarion at Brazosport College.

Rodney Mason, Director of Choral Activities at the college, serves as conductor and artistic director. Membership is open to anyone in the community and does not require an audition. The chorus combines with the Brazosport College Chamber choir and College Singers for most performances.

Highlights from the season include patriotic selections for the symphony’s pops concert, September 11 commemoration, and Renaissance through African-American Spiritual compositions.
