The Brazosport College Emergency Medical Services Program will host a meeting for the Education Committee of Governor’s EMS and Trauma Advisory Council (GETAC) of the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

The meeting will be at 9 a.m. On Friday, Oct. 14 in room 103 of the Byron and Sandra Sadler Health Professions/Science Complex.

The meeting will be to discuss and take possible action on the following items:

1. EMS (Emergency Medical Services) transition courses.

2. Discuss development of a checklist to assist EMS coordinators in the composition of transition courses.

3. Discuss possibilities for the adoption of name changes to the levels of Texas EMS certification.

4. Final review of 2009 national EMS education standards gap analysis.

5. Paramedic program accreditation workgroup.
