Brazosport College to hold 2011 commencement at new Dow Academic Center

Brazosport College will hold its 2011 commencement at the new Dow Academic Center on Saturday, May 14.

This year’s commencement will not only feature the first class to hold its commencement ceremonies in the new building, it will also be the first public event in the center.

The commencement address will be delivered by Dow Chemical – Texas Operations Vice President and Site Director Gary Hockstra. The Honorable Judge Marc Holder will also be honored as the 2011 Distinguished Alumnus.

“The new Dow Academic Center is a wonderful new addition to Brazosport college and will play a key role toward student success with events such as commencement,” said Brazosport College President Millicent Valek. “We are looking forward to introducing this beautiful new building to our students and community.”

Commencement ceremonies begin at 7 p.m., with participating students asked to meet at the center no later than 5:30 p.m.
