Columbia High School choirs to guest at Choral Union concert

Columbia High School's Chorale and Advanced Women's Choir will be guest performers at the Brazosport Choral Union fall concert, "Justice, Freedom, Remembrance and Hope," at 8 p.m. on Oct. 22.

The concert will be in the performance hall at the Clarion on the campus of Brazosport College.

Songs will include spirituals and other sacred works, along with subjects of remembrances of people and events. Composers on the program include Douglas Wagner, Moses Hogan, Robert Schumann, Robert Young, Daniel Elder, G.F. Handel and arrangements by J. Clokey and William Dawson.

The Columbia High School Choirs are under the direction of John Richardson, accompanied by Stephanie Elkins. The Brazosport Choral Union is a combined chorus of the Brazosport College Chamber Choir, College Singers and the Brazosport Civic Chorus, under the direction of Rodney Mason, accompanied by Barbara Carter and Matthew Todd.
