Returning BC students can get a head start with new Online Priority Registration

 -- 7/13/2011, Billy Loveless

  LAKE JACKSON — The early bird gets the worm, and the same can be said for students registering for classes at Brazosport College. For students looking for an advantage toward getting choice classes, Brazosport College is introducing Online Priority Registration this fall.

Online Priority Registration is a two-day registration period, July 21 and 22, in which students can sign up for classes before early registration starts on July 25. This opportunity is only available to students registering online.

The Priority Registration system will open at midnight on Thursday, July 21 and will remain active until noon on Friday, July 22. After the Friday deadline, the system will not be enabled again until early registration starts at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 25. On-site registration also begins on July 25 at the college.

Using the college’s information system, myBC, returning students only need their student ID or social security number and their pin number to access the system.

To be eligible for online registration, students must first:

• Be cleared by the admissions office or have been enrolled for at least one semester within the last year;

• Be eligible to self advise or have met with a college counselor and been cleared for online registration; and

• Have no holds on their record.

New students are not immediately eligible for online registration, but can start the registration process by applying at www.ApplyTexas.org. After the application process is completed, a college representative will contact prospective students with more information.
