Riders in The Sky to entertain all ages with unique Western wit

For more than three decades, Riders in The Sky have been keepers of the flame passed on by the Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, reviving and revitalizing the genre of Western Music.

Along the way, they’ve entertained audiences of all ages, including singing “Yippee-yi-yo” with young cowboys and cowgirls, as well as sharing their wacky humor and way-out wit with adults.

On October 29, Riders in The Sky will share all this and more with audiences at The Clarion at Brazosport College. The popular Western act will perform two shows, beginning with their Saddle Pals children’s show at 2:30 p.m., followed by their regular Western performance at 7:30 p.m.

Through the years, Riders in The Sky have proven to be a hit with audiences and critics alike. They are the only exclusively Western artists to win a Grammy award, and they’ve done it twice. As a classic Cowboy quartet, they’ve chalked up more than 6,100 concert appearances in all 50 states and 10 countries. They’ve also been guests on countless television shows, ranging from Barney to Penn and Teller.

Riders are also known for composing themes for various animated shows, but none are more popular than the lovable cowboy Woody, as they performed “Woody’s Round Up” in Toy Story 2.

Whether it’s for kids or adults, a Riders in The Sky show is more than just a concert of Western Music. Rather, it’s a mixture of music, laughter and fun, all while encouraging buckaroos and buckarettes to live life the “Cowboy Way!”

Both of the Riders in The Sky shows will be on Oct. 29 at The Clarion at Brazosport College. Tickets for the 2:30 p.m. Saddle Pals children’s show are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Western show are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors and BC employees and $10 for children.
