Sponsorships, named seats among ways to support the Clarion at Brazosport College

 Billy Loveless, 9/22/2011

The Clarion at Brazosport College is known for bringing top-notch shows to the Brazosport area, and one of the reasons for this success is community involvement.

By partnering with the Clarion, you can help Brazosport College continue its commitment to serve the area with a high-quality arts venue that features diverse and entertaining shows.

Two popular options available are to participate in the Clarion’s “Best Seat in the House” program or to become a sponsor of one of the shows.

By participating in the “Best Seat in the House” program, you have the opportunity to become a partner of The Clarion Spirit of Music fund. The fund was established to enhance the Clarion’s potential to serve as a diverse, high-quality arts venue by providing cultural enrichment in an affordable manner.

By investing $500, a seat of your choice will be recognized as a lasting recognition of your commitment to arts and education. Choosing to name a seat also provides the opportunity to honor or pay tribute to a special loved one.

As for sponsoring a concert, you and your business will not only get your name out in the community, you’ll earn some outstanding benefits toward the sponsored show.

Sponsor levels are between $2,500 and $15,000, with 25 or more tickets going to each sponsor. A reception for you and your guests will be hosted in the Clarion’s reserved balcony section before the concert, and you’ll step on the stage with college president Millicent Valek to introduce the show. These are just a few of the benefits that go with a concert sponsorship.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the following concerts:

·
Riders in the Sky on Oct. 29, 2011
·     Jazztravaganza with Mike Stern on Nov. 18, 2011
·     Los Lobos at the Dow Academic Center on Feb. 3, 2011
·     The Swingle Singers on March 23, 2011
·     Mercury Baroque on March 31, 2011.

Businesses and individuals that have already committed to sponsor a concert include STP Nuclear Operating Company (Restless Heart); BASF (Celtic Tenors); Freeport LNG, Gulf Chemical & Metallurgical  and ConocoPhillips (Mindi Abair with the Brazosport Jazz Orchestra); TDECU Investments (Paul Cardell); and Gordon and Nancy Wollam (The Swingle Singers).

The Clarion is home to the Brazosport College Music Department, which oftentimes works hand-in-hand with the performers who visit our area.  Through master classes, community outreach and educational programs, the Clarion and Brazosport College’s Music Department has become a vibrant and growing part of our fine arts community.
