
The Texas Tenors to conduct vocal workshop
More 100 million people from around the world tuned in to America's Got Talent in the fall of 2009 to see The Texas Tenors become "2009's #1 Vocal Group of the Year." From John Denver to Puccini, JC, Marcus and John bring their unique blend of country, gospel, classical, and Broadway to the stage with breathtaking vocals, humor and cowboy charm.
On Thursday, March 24, the Clarion at Brazosport College and the Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences will host a free vocal workshop with The Texas Tenors. The workshop, which begins at 7 p.m., is open to aspiring singers of all levels and ages, as well as educators.
The workshop will consist of two parts. First, The Texas Tenors will hold a discussion that will include such topics as communication with the audience, stage presence and vocal technique. Second, local vocalists (soloists or ensembles) will be given the opportunity to perform a prepared piece to be critiqued by The Texas Tenors. Performers must provide their own accompanist.
The vocal workshop will be held at the art gallery at the Brazosport Center for Arts and Sciences, located at 400 College Boulevard in Clute. The vocal workshop is free, however, reservations are required. Workshop seating will be limited to 50.
