Brazosport College recently received a Texas Reskilling and Upskilling for Education (TRUE) Institutional Capacity Grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in the amount of $216,750.

Funds from the grant will be used to integrate Systems, Applications, and Products in data processing (SAP) into curriculum at the College. Pilot courses providing a one-week introduction to SAP will be offered to 90 students at no cost. A second class for experienced SAP users, which will culminate in a national certification exam, will be held at BC’s Center for Business and Industry Training (CBIT) beginning April 25.

This course, which normally costs $10,000, will be offered to qualified applicants for only $1,400. The class, SAP TS410, will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for two weeks — April 25 through May 6 — in the Corporate Learning Center at Brazosport College. The $1,400 course fee includes breakfast, lunch, books and certification exam fee. Significant work experience using SAP in an SAP-related field is a pre-requisite for the course.

Taught by an experienced industry professional, this seminar in ERP systems leads students through the official SAP TS410 (S/4HANA) training in ERP. After successfully completing this seminar, students will be prepared to take the SAP Certification Exam and receive the designation of SAP Certified Application Associate.

SAP is the most popular member of a family of software known as Enterprise Resource Planning Systems that combines databases, business processes, business intelligence, user interaction and cross-department communications into a centralized system that allows real-time decision making, information gathering and process automation.
