Janet's Planet

The Clarion at Brazosport College is kicking off its Summer Children’s Series with two opportunities for the entire family to see an entertaining, educational, space-themed show.

Sponsored by Olin, “Janet’s Planet” will have two performances, including an evening show at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, followed by a matinee show one day later at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15.

“Janet's Planet” travels at the "speed of thought," introducing the wonders of the galaxy to families and young audiences. The 45-minute interactive presentation engages and challenges students, and is designed to inspire elementary school-aged kids in a fun and entertaining, yet educational, way.

Created by Janet Ivey-Duensing, “Janet’s Planet” is committed to enriching the lives of children through educational programming. With more than 20 years in the media, she has received 12 Regional Emmy Awards and five Gracie Allen Awards.  “Janet’s Planet” seeks to bring to light the wonderful creativity that is an integral part of science.

“Janet’s Planet” is the first in the Clarion’s Summer Children’s Series. Other upcoming shows include Ken Waldman on June 22, Tom’s Fun Band on June 29 and Andyroo and the Andyrooniverse on July 13. These three shows are daytime performances and begin at 10 a.m.

Tickets are available to the public for $5 and can be purchased online at www.brazosport.edu/clarion or by contacting the Clarion Box Office at (979) 230-3156.
