BC’s Health Services Management program earns national award

Brazosport College’s Bachelor in Health Services Management program was recently awarded a Higher Education Network Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

The prestigious national award is given to one graduate and one undergraduate program each year in healthcare administration/health services management from across the country. Brazosport College’s Health Services Management (HSM) program was selected the recipient of the undergraduate award for 2021.

Brazosport College earned the honor by demonstrating excellence in four different areas, including:

• ACHE membership of recent graduates
• Engagement with ACHE, the local Regent and ACHE chapter(s)
• Student-organized activities that advance healthcare management
• Other student-organized activities

As a 2021 ACHE Higher Education Network Award winner, Brazosport College’s HSM program will be awarded $1,000 and a plaque. A faculty representative will also receive a trip in March to the Congress on Healthcare Leadership event where this year’s accomplishment will be recognized by the ACHE Chairman.  

The Higher Education Network Award is one of a variety of accolades Brazosport College's HSM program has earned in recent years, including honors for both faculty and students. The program was also recently ranked No. 2 in Texas and No. 7 nationwide out of 7,700 accredited schools by the website, EduMed.    

Brazosport College’s Bachelor in Health Services Management program prepares graduates for entry to mid-level management positions in a healthcare or medical facility. The program uses an innovative, instructional approach specifically designed to prepare students to manage the business and operational side of healthcare delivery and related industries.
