Brazosport College to hold public forums for presidential finalists

Mon Sep 27, 2021

With the announcement of Brazosport College President Dr. Millicent Valek’s retirement in January 2022, the search to identify the College’s next president is underway.

The College’s Board of Regents is committed to a process that is fair, transparent, and inclusive, and ensures the College constituents will be updated throughout this process.

After a thorough review of the applicants, the Presidential Search Committee has identified finalists, and the Board is welcoming input from the community during this process.

The four finalists are Dr. David Hinds, former President of Victoria College; Dr. Ian Roark, Vice President of Workforce Development & Strategic Partnerships for Pima Community College; Dr. James Ross, President of Pamlico Community College; and Dr. Vincent Solis, President of Western Nevada College. Their full biographies can be found on the Brazosport College Presidential Search webpage listed below.

Community members, students and employees are invited to participate in public forums with each of the finalists with an opportunity to ask questions.

The first public forum with a finalist will be held on September 29 at 10 a.m. and repeated at 2 p.m. in The Clarion at Brazosport College. Both forums will also be available remotely via Zoom.

Additional forums are scheduled for the same times and location on Oct. 4, 5 and 7. Electronic feedback will be accepted until 9 a.m. on the day following each interview.
