BC Massage Therapy Program to offer free massages on Oct. 1

A single massage therapy session can have many emotional and physical benefits. It relieves stress, relaxes muscles, improves circulation and encourages relaxation, among many other health benefits.

If you’ve never experienced a massage or in need of one, the Massage Therapy Program at Brazosport College is providing a rare opportunity for a massage at no cost.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, the BC Massage Therapy Program is offering free 15-minute chair massages on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Student Pavilion on the campus of Brazosport College.

The massages will be administered by BC Massage Therapy students preparing to begin internships on Oct. 12.

“Many people in the college community don’t realize we have a massage therapy program here at Brazosport College,” said Kristin Smith, Community Education Healthcare Coordinator at Brazosport College. “This is a way of informing everyone of our program, as well as provide a sneak peak into what a massage is like and how beneficial it can be. It also gives our massage therapy students the ability to practice their massage techniques before starting internships.”
