Summer semester Jumpstart program graduates 25

Brazosport College recently graduated 25 students from its Summer Jumpstart program. The graduates included 13 electricians and 12 pipefitters. Graduates include electricians Hakeem Adesola-Salam, Alfred Anderson, Miguel Arellano, Jared Bennett, Juan Garcia, Cameron Green, Ken Johnson, Luis Plunkett, David Ramirez, Emilio Razo, Carlos Reyes. Misty Saathoff and Krista Winston, and pipefitters Miguel Borja, Brooke Buentello, Amanda Garcia, Richard Jones, Juan Mendoza, Undre Parson, Jonathan Pharris, Jason Richardson, Mark Rodriguez, Jesus Sanchez, Gerardo Sarabia and Katerrian Williams.

Brazosport College recently graduated a new group of students from its Jumpstart program, as 25 students completed the program with an emphasis on either pipefitting or electrical work.

Jumpstart graduated 13 electricians and 12 pipefitters during the summer semester.

Electrical graduates include Hakeem Adesola-Salam, Alfred Anderson, Miguel Arellano, Jared Bennett, Juan Garcia, Cameron Green, Ken Johnson, Luis Plunkett, David Ramirez, Emilio Razo, Carlos Reyes, Misty Saathoff and Krista Winston. Pipefitter graduates are Miguel Borja, Brooke Buentello, Amanda Garcia, Richard Jones, Juan Mendoza, Undre Parson, Jonathan Pharris, Jason Richardson, Mark Rodriguez, Jesus Sanchez, Gerardo Sarabia and Katerrian Williams.

Jumpstart is a free nine-week, hands-on training program that provides skills to eligible participants who want to be hired as entry-level pipefitters and electricians with local industry.

Successful completers will earn nine college credits, an Occupational Skills Award from Brazosport College, a NCCER Core Curriculum Certification and Blue Card, and a NCCER Level 1 Craft Helper Certification. A job fair is also conducted at the conclusion of the program.

Applications for the Fall 2019 Jumpstart session are being accepted until Sept. 6, with classes starting Sept. 12.
