Robert Perryman joined the Brazosport College Board of Regents in February, 2010.  He was elected as Chair of the Board in May, 2022.

Current Civic and Professional Participation

Robert is a current member and former Chairman of the Board of the Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation of Brazoria County. He also is an advisory board member for the Small Business Development Center and the Bay Area Council Boy Scouts of America, as well as a member of the Brazosport Community Advisory Panel to BASF and Shintech. Robert is a member of Brazoria County Bankers Association and is on the First State Bank Board of Directors. He also is a member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Clute.

Robert is the president and CEO of First State Bank in Clute, Lake Jackson and Manvel.

Personal Biography

A longtime community leader, Robert is a 1974 graduate of Brazosport High School and is a current resident of Jones Creek. He is a Texas A&M University alumnus, graduating in 1978 with a Bachelor of Business Administration-Finance. He also earned a degree from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in 1986. Robert is married to Karen Perryman. Their son, Joseph Perryman is married to Rebecca. Robert is the son of longtime Brazosport-area residents, the late Dr. and Mrs. Gerald F. Perryman.
