Biography

I was born in Washington, D.C. When I was five years old our family moved to  Dallas. I always enjoyed going to school and by the time I was in the eighth grade I knew I wanted to be a teacher.

The fall following my graduation from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, I entered East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-Commerce) and four years later graduated with a B.S. in history and speech and came to Angleton where I taught at Angleton High School.

While at Angleton I continued my education, earning a M.S. in political science and began teaching government at Brazosport College as an adjunct. Soon thereafter I was invited to join the faculty as an assistant professor of government. After coming to Brazosport College I completed courses in the Futures Studies Program at the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Since 1998 I have served as Chair of the Division of Social Sciences and Business.

My wife and I live in West Columbia. We enjoy watching the Texans and the Cowboys, playing fantasy football, and traveling. We have a son who lives in Lake Jackson. We now share our home with two Chihuahuas, Emmitt and JJ.
